Madaly joined the Ecology Center in 2020. As the Food and Farming Program Manager, she supports and promotes the work of the California Alliance of Farmers Markets, as well as the Ecology Center’s national work on nutrition incentive programs. Madaly comes to the Ecology Center after spending a couple of years working at the non-profit the Mindful Life Project. There she was able to focus on her social justice passion to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline through Mindfulness Education to East Oakland and Richmond kiddos. Madaly has also worked on healthy food access and equity projects through the non-profit Fresh Approach; where she managed the operations and sales of a mobile farmers market truck that served Richmond/Antioch/San Pablo/East Oakland. She did similar work through the non-profit Mandela Marketplace where she sold fresh and local produce in Oakland. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from UC Berkeley, where she studied Society and Environment, with an emphasis in Environment Justice and Sustainability. In her free time she likes to walk dogs, garden, cook, meditiate, dance, and flow!
